NOVEMBER 5, 1936 – NOVEMBER 22, 2024

Robert (Bob) Hattaway, born November 5, 1936, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2024. A native of Altamonte Springs, Florida, Bob was the beloved son of Talley and Alma Hattaway (both deceased). He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Frances Haines, and his brother Richard E Hattaway. Bob is survived by his devoted wife Charlotte, with whom he shared nearly four decades of love, and his two adult daughters, Teri Jenkins and Pam Williams. He was a devoted grandfather to Robert Williams and April Main, and a proud great-grandfather to Nathan Main. Bob also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews who will fondly remember him. Bob Hattaway was a remarkable business owner, real estate investor, family patriarch, and entrepreneur, leaving an indelible mark on the history of Central Florida. His diverse business ventures spanned from agriculture to establishing the largest outdoor storage space in the country. Bob was also a Founder and a Legacy Member of the Private Business Association of Seminole, where he played an instrumental role in supporting local businesses and fostering a sense of community. He served with honor in the Florida House of Representatives for the 33rd district from 1974 to 1982 and played a pivotal role in promoting Orlando as a travel destination during his tenure with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, including four years as chairman. His civic engagement extended to both the national and local Jaycees, reflecting his commitment to community service. Above all, Bob was dedicated to his family, instilling in them the values of involvement, friendship, and the importance of cherishing one another. If Bob could leave one parting gift to everyone, it would be to get involved in your community, value your friends, and, most importantly, cherish your family.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 2nd, at 12:00 PM at First Baptist Sweetwater, located at 3800 Wekiva Springs Road, Longwood.
